Your Daily Dose of Inspiration:
The goodness of God must be an established fact within the heart of the believer. It is a fundamental truth of our faith, and without it, you cannot follow God. Indeed, who would follow a God through difficulty if we did not expect Him to have our ultimate good in mind? Who would trust Him in the midst of pain if we did not believe that His intentions toward us were for our benefit? If you are going to believe in God, you must believe that He is perfectly, entirely, unchangingly, relentlessly good. Romans 2:4 tells us, that it is His goodness which drew us to repent at His feet and accept His salvation. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that if anyone is to draw near to Him, they must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. It is the belief in His goodness which allows us to hold fast to our faith. It is how we are able to weather the storms of life with joy and confident expectation. It is how we are able to remain in peace while all the world is caught up in fear and panic.
Romans 2:4 “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
