Family Scripture Reading and Devotions
Each Sunday our kids meet for their own message where they are going through the Bible chronologically. On the first Sunday of the month, the kids will join their families in the sanctuary for a Family service. On these Family Sundays, everyone will learn about the next portion of scripture on the kids’ list.
5 daily scripture readings with accompanying devotions that reinforce the kids’ lesson from each Sunday. The devotions are short and meant for every member of the family kids through adults! Even empty-nesters, grandparents, and single adults will benefit from these simple but meaningful devotions to accompany their daily scripture reading. It’s great to read through the Bible together as a church family!
There is an activity to do after reading the Bible verses and devotion for the day. I encourage you to do these activities for yourself and with your family! They are simple activities that are meant to incorporate God and his Word into our regular life and don’t require special craft supplies or anything more than what you already have at home. You can do the activities simply as written or get as creative as you like!
At the end of each devotion say a prayer, out loud if you’re doing the devotion with others, that reinforces what was read that day.
- Tell God that you love him, give Him worship in prayer.
- Thank God for his teaching and name the special blessings he has given to you for that day.
- Ask Him to write his Word on your hearts and to help you to do what is right and glorifying to Him.
- You can also take this opportunity to ask God for anything you need that day, any physical or spiritual need, and to pray for the needs of others.
