Pastor Appreciation
Something established by God from the very beginning! The spiritual leaders of the Israelite people were well taken care of by the people they served. Jesus accepted financial support from people during His ministry. The Apostle Paul was “amply supplied” for by the people of the church and called their gifts a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, and well-pleasing to God.
We ought to take good care of our pastors all year long, and we do! October is just a special time to give some unique thanks and recognition to our spiritual leaders.
What are some ways that you can show appreciation to your pastors this October? How can you thank them for the hours of service and behind the scenes as well as their direct ministry to you?
How?
- Give to your church collection to buy a nice gift that will help to make your pastor’s job easier.
- Write a nice note to your pastor with the purpose of encouragement, listing the things they do well and expressing appreciation for the things that have positively affected you. Take the opportunity to be specific instead of just signing a greeting card.
- If you have access to a free service, sports or concert tickets, or something similar that you can truly gift for free, then do!
- If you would like to include a gift card for coffee, a nice dinner, or trip to the movies, these are all good ideas.
- Don’t be afraid to get creative and express your genuine appreciation in a unique way! Keep your gifts thoughtful and respectful of your pastor’s time.
