Sunday mornings are an opportunity for the entire family to worship together before kids are released for class! Service starts at 10am and after a time of song and worship, kids go to their own class to learn about the Bible.
Our kids spend the majority of their time outdoors for class and after learning a hymn, a Bible story, and poem or verse, they are taken on a teacher led nature lesson. Typically a dairy and nut free snack is served and when all lessons are complete, they are given supervised space to explore the forest trail, make their own games to play in the field, color a picture, or work on a puzzle.
Our children’s ministry reflects a Charlotte Mason approach to education, where we allow each child to make their own connections to God by supplying them with the scriptures in a reverent way that allows the Holy Spirit to be their guide. We spend a lot of time in nature making observations about God’s creation as well as simply enjoying it’s beauty.
