May 20 Quarantine Encouragement
Understand that it is not God’s desire that we be separated from Him.
Understand that it is not God’s desire that we be separated from Him.
Though shame in the presence of the Lord is a consequence of sin, it is good to feel shame when we have sinned. For it shows that our hearts have not been shut off from God.
To really understand what sin is, we must understand what God is.
Though you may miss the mark, Christ did not. He is your justification and your redemption. Leave your works behind and focus on pursuing relationship with Him.
Of these three causes to miss the mark, this is, I think, the most dangerous. We are so easily distracted by the pleasures and comforts of this world, and they take our eyes from the target.
That is God saying, “Depend on Me and allow My strength to bring you through.”
The greatest work of the enemy is seen not in those who are obviously villainous, but in those who sit quietly and comfortably, thinking their sin not so bad as others.
Once we begin to think about sin as turning away from God, rather than in terms of bad behavior, we will start to aim correctly.
The target that we are to aim for is not good behavior, but right relationship with God.
For whoever serves Him will be with Him wherever He is.
